What is OpenClaw Skills?

Reusable capabilities you can install into your OpenClaw agent

Definition

OpenClaw Skills are pre-built, reusable capability packages that you can install into your agent to add new functionality. A skill might add the ability to post to Twitter, process PDFs, query a database, generate images, or do anything else you want your agent to be able to do.

How it works

A skill is typically a SKILL.md file that defines what the capability does and how to invoke it, along with any supporting scripts or configuration. Skills are installed into the OpenClaw agent's configuration and become available as new tools or behaviors. Community marketplaces have hundreds of community-built skills available for download.

Why it matters

Skills let you extend your agent's capabilities without programming. Instead of building everything from scratch, you can install a proven, tested skill and have your agent do something new in minutes. Clawfleet's verified skill marketplace ensures the skills you install are safe and functional.
